Somuncura
Regional View
- Gold/Silver mineralisation was first discovered in the late 1990s & explored by Iamgold, RIO and Barrick early 2000s – since overlooked for nearly 20 years
- 39,000ha of granted tenements, 100% owned
- El Bagual has multiple low sulfidation vein trends with high grade gold and silver in rock chips and channel sampling
- Caltrauna and Laguna Amarilla sites contain shallow gold mineralisation associated with vuggy silica and advanced argillic alteration (epithermal style)
- Caltrauna also contains a porphyry copper target 200m below surface defined by IP and magnetic surveys
- There are wide zones of gold mineralisation in surface trenches and in drill holes across multiple prospects
- Initial tests indicate favourable non-refractory metallurgy for the gold mineralisation
- Geophysical program to map subsurface silicification and structure has been completed
- Targets are drill ready and work programs permitted ready for immediate exploration
- Excellent access, flat, and can drill year-round
Three priority targets, all-year access
Caltrauna
- Gold and Silver deposit discovered by Arminex/Rio Tinto in 1999
- Best drill intercepts: 46m @ 1.5 g/t Au (hole 9) and 10m @5.4 g/t Au
- Mineralisation related to siliceous bodies over a 3km2 area
- Geophysics has identified prominent IP anomalies characterised by strong chargeability and coincident conductivity centred on a magnetic low
- Targeting shallow epithermal and deeper porphyry copper mineralisation
El Bagual
- Gold and silver prospect explored by Iamgold in 2000
- High grade gold & silver vein system discovered by Rio de Oro S.A. in 2022 (up to 33 g/t Au and 1,786 g/t Ag in rock chips)
- Epithermal low to intermediate sulfidation in a rhyolite dome setting.
Laguna Amarilla
- Gold mineralisation explored by Iamgold and Barrick from 2002 to 2005
- Best drill intercepts: 25m @ 0.9 g/t Au and
19m @ 1.3 g/t Au - High grade gold (40 g/t Au) at surface
Somuncura – El Bagual
- Located in Los Menucos district, Rio Negro, 20km north of the town of Sierra Colorada
- 27,000ha of granted concessions
- High grade Au-Ag vein style deposit discovered by Rio de Oro S.A. in 2022
- Mineralisation related to large areas of illite alteration in a rhyolite dome setting
- Seven veins outlined along a 7km long NE corridor
- Gold and Silver, accompanied by base metals, assays are higher in the northern part (up to 33g/t Au and 1,786g/t Ag)
- The system could be shallowly preserved in the south
- Work planned includes:
- Geophysical surveys (MAG and IP)
- Limited trenching, additional rock sampling
- Diamond drilling (4000m minimum)
